CVS Health to Cut Jobs in Ohio

In a recent development, CVS Health has revealed plans to terminate the employment of 72 remote workers, predominantly residing in Ohio.

The company has submitted a Worker Adjustment and Retraining Notification (WARN) to the Connecticut Department of Labor. These employees are linked to CVS Health’s Farmington, Connecticut facility.

According to the notice, 70 of the affected individuals are Ohio residents, though specific locations within the state are not disclosed. The layoffs are deemed permanent.

Reason Behind the Job Cuts

The layoffs stem from CVS Health’s decision to discontinue its Aetna Medicare Medicaid Program due to the loss of a contract for 2026. The positions being eliminated include 44 nurses, along with several social workers and case managers.

Timeline and Support for Affected Employees

The job reductions are scheduled to occur between December 31 and March 31. CVS Health has assured that those impacted will receive severance packages and continued benefits, as reported by CT Insider.
