Exploring the Future: India International Science Festival 2025 Unites Innovators

The India International Science Festival (IISF) 2025 has kicked off its 11th edition, attracting a diverse crowd of participants, including students, global experts, and science enthusiasts from all over India. This year, the festival boasts over 150 sessions that delve into various aspects of science, technology, and industry. Key topics include artificial intelligence, the bio-economy, space exploration, quantum technology, and the fusion of traditional and modern scientific knowledge. Additionally, the event highlights deep-tech entrepreneurship and the blue economy.

Engaging the Next Generation of Scientists

In his opening remarks, Dr. Jitendra Singh, Union Minister for Science and Technology, emphasized the festival’s focus on young minds, including schoolchildren and budding researchers. He inaugurated the Science-Technology-Defence-Space exhibition and the innovative “Science on a Sphere” display. Dr. Singh also engaged with researchers stationed at Bharati, India’s Antarctic research base, through a live session.

Fostering Collaboration and Innovation

During a round-table discussion, the minister urged industry leaders, investors, and researchers to actively contribute to India’s research and innovation ecosystem. As the government prepares to launch a ₹1 lakh crore fund for research, development, and innovation (RDI), Dr. Singh highlighted the necessity of private sector involvement, noting that public institutions alone cannot drive innovation. The RDI fund is set to enhance the efforts of the Anusandhan National Research Foundation (ANRF), which supports cutting-edge research and fosters collaboration between academia and industry.

Innovative Learning Through Play

Throughout the four-day event, Toynik, a venture under Ideaforage Innovations, is showcasing its unique approach to gamified learning. By integrating science, mathematics, and play, Toynik offers a range of physical and augmented reality puzzle games, including Trigonik, Coordinate, Operator, and Trigo Card. Their standout creation, “Nutruno,” is an educational card game developed with nutrition science expert Dr. Kalyani Singh. Designed to enhance nutrition literacy and critical thinking, Nutruno aims to bridge the gap between education and engaging innovation for children.
